On May 28 we take a stand against world hunger.

This World Hunger Day we join with millions of people and thousands of organizations around the world to amplify the voices of those facing hunger and help make the UN Sustainable Goal of Zero Hunger a reality. The focus of the World Hunger Day 2024 campaign is maternal and child health. Join us as we work to ensure that mothers have access to information and nutritious foods for themselves and their children.

Add your voice to the Thriving Mothers Recipe Collection!

In support of World Hunger Day 2024, The Hunger Project Canada is collecting recipes and stories about your experience with maternal and child nutrition.

Every mother and child depends on good nutrition and fun food. Did your family or culture have a favorite recipe for mom and the kids? Share it with us and we will share it with the world.

For the suggested donation of $20 or more, we will feature your recipe, story or pictures on our website, and we’ll share it on our social media. After World Hunger Day on May 28, we will compile all of the collected recipes and share them with participants in one convenient volume.

Share your stories and testimonials from family and friends — especially the kids! Add your voice and help us grow this recipe collection so we can share our cultures, recipes and stories to make better maternal and child nutrition a reality — and some fun!

Now is the time to invest insustainable solutions.

Malnutrition is one of the biggest contributors to the cycle of chronic hunger. Women and children, particularly those living with poverty, are most vulnerable to malnutrition. Girls are often fed last and least, and mothers often eat only after the rest of their family is fed.

Ensuring that mothers have access to information and nutritious foods for themselves and their babies is the most effective way to break the cycle of malnutrition.

If you or your organization would like to participate in World Hunger Day 2024, please share your inspiration and ideas with us HERE.

Hunger is on the rise.

Despite producing enough food to feed everyone, more than 800 million people still go hungry every day.

Two thirds are women.

Hunger is an insidious cycle. It’s often silent, invisible and relentless; passed from generation to generation. Unlike famines which attract emergency aid, millions of people around the world are forced to accept a life of hunger; unable to make their dreams a reality.
